Poetry Friday

I had already decided to do one of my favorite poets ever -- but particularly in High School and college -- when I saw Big A little a's choice and I had to chuckle. Kelly picked Ted Hughes; while I had already decided to do Sylvia Plath.

I'm going with one of the early poems:

Mad Girl's Love Song

I shut my eyes and all the world drops dead;
I lift my lids and all is born again.
(I think I made you up inside my head.)

The stars go waltzing out in blue and red,
And arbitrary blackness gallops in:
I shut my eyes and all the world drops dead.

The rest of the poem is here.

Other Poetry Friday contributions: Farm School; Jen Robinson; A Fuse #8 Production; Little Willow.

I know! I had already decided to do this eary poem, but I was quite tempted to change it to one that was about Hughes, but being as it's Friday & I work tomorrow I didn't want to do the research (lazy me!).

Have you heard Fisher's version of MGLS as an actual song? Fantastic!
