2010 Rainbow List

The Rainbow Books 2010 is from the the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgendered Round Table and the Social Responsibilities Round Table of the American Library Association.

The 2010 Rainbow Project Bibliography is recommended titles for youth from birth to age 18 that contain significant and authentic gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgendered, queer, or questioning (GLBTQ) content.

And of all the picture books, fiction books, and nonfiction books, I've reviewed a grand total of one:

Lo, Malinda. Ash.

Yes, I am embarrassed.

Thank you for this, Liz. It's a good one for my big list of best-kids-books lists.

Well, if you had to read only 1 from the list, Ash was one of my favorites! Others I really liked from this list: Rage, The Secrets of Truth & Beauty, How Beautiful the Ordinary, King of the Screwups, and Love is the Higher Law (reviews of Rage & a few others at my site). I still need to read quite a few of the other titles on the list. A colleague raved about Blue Boy, but I haven't gotten to it yet. Happy reading!

I really liked _Say The Word_ by Jeannine Garsee--great 1st person voice, involving plot.
