A New Blog In Town

Chris & I have started a new blog. It's still in the baby stages with 2 (yes, two!!) whole posts. It was Chris's idea; instead of talking about books after we've read them, to talk about them before. Why pick that book? What made you decide to read that author? We're calling it Librarian's Most Wanted. We hope to get some additional regular contributors, as well as guests who will share what is on their hold list or "to read" pile.

That is such a cool idea. Most of the time I don't even read book reviews past the first couple lines; I just want to know what books people are reading.

I've got about 14 books out from the library sitting on my shelf waiting to be read (and that pretty much never changes) if you're looking for a contributor. They are mostly YA, but I've been reading more adult books than ever.

Great idea, and good luck!

I'm not a librarian, but as a homeschooler, a good librarian is one of my best friends lol. If you're willing to consider a homeschooler, Liz, I'm your gal :). Things here move at such a fast clip that the books I tend to blog about are the ones that I/we want to read or plan to read or have just removed from the library, and I'm usually too busy or too caught up in the next round of things we, um, plan to read that I never get around to posting a review. Which, come to think of it, is probably the main ulterior reason that I can't imagine doing the 48 hour book challenge...

Around here we tend to specialize in picture books, history and science nonfiction, early readers, chapter books, and adult stuff. Pretty much everything but YA...

Your energy never ceases to amaze me. I can barely keep up one blog and you have two, three? Go, Liz!

I LOVE this idea! I can't tell you how many times I've requested books from the library and by the time I get them I think, "Now why did I want to read this?" Right now I'm reading a chapter book, three YAs, four adult non-fics, and listening to an audiobook.

I'm looking forward to this new blog o' yours!

Great idea, though I've no idea where you find the time! I'm struggling to find time to write about books I HAVE read. :-)

Good luck with the new blog.

Keri, we'll be taking you up on that offer. I'm not sure what we were thinking, starting this up before ALA, but after New Orleans I'll email you.

You, too, Becky -- I think this "most wanted" list will only work if we get as many different people as possible contributing.

Mary -- I get by with a little help from my friends. Pop is mainly Sophie's baby, and Chris and I are looking at this as a group project. Next on the list: get beyond chapter 3 of the book I'm writing....

Jay -- I have a list of books I want to put on hold, but I have no idea why I put those books on the list. I'm hoping this blog will help organize my thoughts.

WMI -- I think it may actually be easier to write about it before than after. It should be shorter... I think. I hope.

We'll see...

Thanks, everyone!
