Sherri L. Smith's Flygirl was about the WWII women pilots known as WASP.
Today, via Jezebel, I read about an effort to have the pilots recognized with the Congressional Gold Medal.

Oh, very cool. The WACs (Women's Army Corps) were also honored this year -- the African American ones were finally honored, which is of particular interest to me, because of MARE'S WAR,
Ironic that this is a.) sixty five years later, and b.) one day in a graveyard to honor them, but whatever. I do hope the WASPs actually get those medals, but the cynic in me is not holding my breath.
