I know that promoting a book is hard work, and that often it's done entirely on "author time." And that part of that work is contacting your local library about purchasing copies.
A simple request -- if you're going to do this, it would be really nice if you had a library card.
I'm just saying.

tee hee. I do. And mine is so old and tattered they always ask if I want a new one and I always say no. Thousands of books have swiped over that old card and I am proud of it. (ack--and I have never asked my local library to purchase copies. I always GIVE them copies. Maybe I need to rethink this . . . )
This is purely hypothetical, right?
I'm not sure what it was about August, but there was a combo of "don't you want to support your local author" requests to add copies (with here is where I was reviewed, etc., etc.) and then it turned out they don't have library cards... which means, of course, they don't support us.
*sigh*.
