Nerds Heart YA

What is Nerds Heart YA? Why, it is a book tournament for underrepresented young adult novels.

It started in 2009 and so this is the second year. Woo hoo! Last year, the winner was My Most Excellent Year: A Novel of Love, Mary Poppins, and Fenway Park by Steve Kugel.

Have a book you want to nominate? Nominations are now open, and all the fun details (like how an underrepresented book is defined) are clearly spelled out.

True confession: last year I had a bit of trouble following the brackets, because the judges posted at their own blogs and I had to keep remembering where to go to look for the next round. This year, there is a dedicated website for Nerds Heart YA, so for those sad people like me who need things handed to them on a platter... yay! And thank you for the organizers for making it so simple, a Liz B can follow.

Is there a Twitter account?

Does a book blogger read books?

OK, anyway, head over and nominate because otherwise? You cannot complain "oh, they didn't use x book." But keep in mind... even with 32 slots, not every book is going to make the final list.

And the deadline for nominations is MARCH 15 MARCH 31. Which is practically tomorrow, the way time has been flying. So go over and nominate a title!

Disclaimer: This year, I am also going to be involved with Nerds Heart YA. (Yay!)

EDITED TO ADD: The deadline for nominations is now MARCH 31!!
